What is OSSDHub?
OSSDHub is a free, community-built directory of volunteer opportunities for Ontario secondary school students. It is not affiliated with the Ontario Ministry of Education, any school board, or any listed organization. It is a solo student project paid for & maintained by the developer and provided as a public service at no cost.
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site, however we'd encourage you to reach out first if something here concerns you.
No guarantees
OSSDHub is provided "as is" with no warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- any listed opportunity will be accepted by your school as valid community involvement hours
- any organization's contact information is current or accurate
- any opportunity is still available at the time you contact the organization
- the site will be available at any given time
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or shut down the site at any time without notice.
OSSD eligibility
OSSD eligibility is self-reported by the organizations that submit listings. OSSDHub reviews submissions for obvious red flags but is not an authority on Ministry of Education eligibility requirements and cannot make binding determinations on your behalf.
Always confirm with your school's community involvement coordinator that an activity qualifies before investing your time. OSSDHub is not liable for hours that are rejected by your school.
Organization listings
Organizations that submit listings are responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide. OSSDHub is a passive directory — we display what organizations tell us. We are not responsible for the conduct, quality, safety, or legitimacy of any listed organization or volunteer activity.
We reserve the right to remove any listing at any time for any reason, including but not limited to inaccurate information, community complaints, or change in eligibility status.
Your conduct
You agree not to use OSSDHub to submit false or misleading information, scrape or copy listings for commercial purposes, or attempt to interfere with the site's operation. Submissions that violate these terms will be removed.
Privacy
We take privacy seriously and collect as little as possible.
What we collect from students: Nothing. Browsing the site and viewing listings requires no account and no personal data.
What we collect from organizations: When an organization submits a listing, we collect the contact information they provide (name, email, phone if applicable, and organization address). We also log the submitting IP address solely for rate limiting purposes to prevent spam submissions. This data is stored securely in our database and is not sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing at all.
Accounts: If you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed (unreadable) version of your password via Supabase Auth. We do not store plaintext passwords.
Analytics: We track anonymous per-listing view and contact click counts to help organizations understand their reach. These counts are not tied to any individual user.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
