About this opportunity
Youth Library Leaders (YLL) is an 8-month volunteer program for Oakville teens that empowers participants to influence library services, plan events, and gain real leadership experience — all while earning volunteer hours toward their OSSD.
What you'll do
- Help plan and deliver library events, including special events during Youth Week
- Develop marketing skills to promote programs to your peers
- Attend career exploration sessions with OPL staff on topics like resume writing and job searching
- Contribute ideas that shape library programs for teens across Oakville
Program details
- Ages 14–18, currently enrolled in secondary school
- Runs September through May
- Monthly 2-hour meetings at various OPL branches
- Minimum commitment: 16 hours (additional hours available through projects and other tasks)
- 30 spots available annually
